Michael Eugene Butler the son of Dewey Ray and Emma Jean (Lemaster) Butler was born October 29, 1956 in Peoria, Illinois and departed this life on October 24, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 25 days.

Michael enjoyed life and he loved his family. He was a truck driver by trade driving for different places such as Stilwell Foods and Walmart. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved going deer hunting. Michael had an eye for a good hotrod, and he loved watching the burnouts on cruise nights. He enjoyed sports and was an avid OU fan, Dallas Cowboys fan and a New York Yankees fan. With all that he loved and enjoyed, nothing meant more to him than his family. He was proud of his children and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Michael touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Crystal Martin; his father-in-law James Wilson; his brothers Bill Butler and Larry “Frog” Butler; his sisters Debbie Butler and Sherri Kossa; and his grandson Aidan Bales.


He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife of nearly 27 years, Patricia Butler of the home; his children Carrie Thompson and husband Robin of Prairie Grove, Christina Carlyle of Siloam Springs, Joann Mendez and husband Edwin of Siloam Springs and Chase Butler and wife Bobbie of Vian; his mother-in-law Geneva Poor and husband Lenard of Stilwell; his sister Fay Key and husband Max of Westville, sister-in-law Charlene Butler of Stilwell and 11 grandchildren: Zoey, Everleigh, Rory, Michael, Isabel, Jeremiah, Rebecca, Alex, AJ, Gabriel, and Connor. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.


Graveside services were held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Ewing Chapel Cemetery with Bro. John Key officiating.

Burial was under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
