Billy Ray "Bill" Butler

Billy Ray Butler, the son of Dewey Ray and Emma Jean (Lemaster) Butler was born January 27, 1943 in Stilwell, Oklahoma, and died Friday March 23, 2018 at Stilwell at the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 24 days.

He was married to Charlene Clinton on November 5, 1962 in Stilwell. To this Union were born 1 daughter and 3 sons. Bill served several years in the Oklahoma National Guard. He worked as a truck driver and enjoyed traveling and meeting people. He always had a story or joke to share when friends came to visit. After retiring as a driver for Walmart he opened a body shop and enjoyed repairing and restoring cars.

Bill was an Ordained Minister and over the years Pastored at Watts Baptist Church and Short Baptist Church and filled in when needed at numerous churches in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas.
 

He is survived by his wife Charlene of the home, his daughter Lorie Owens of Westville, sons Steve Butler of Westville and Joe Butler and his wife Mynde, of Tulsa, granddaughters Breonna Meridith of Tahlequah, Elizabeth Butler of Westville and Harper Butler of Tulsa, Grandsons Daniel Owens of Westville, Tony Owens and his wife Alese of Bunch, Haiden Butler of Tulsa, and great-grandsons Roary Butler and Coonie Owens, sister Faye Key and her husband Max of Westville, brother Mike Butler and wife Pat of Stilwell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
 

He was preceded in death by his son Jimmy Ray Butler, his parents Dewey and Emma Butler; sisters Debra Butler and Sherri Butler and brother Larry Butler.


Graveside services were held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Downing Cemetery, Baron, with Bro. John Key officiating.

Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell
