Levi Simmons was born on August 29, 1934 in Stilwell to John and Anawake (Scraper) Simmons. He left us on January 8, 2016 at the age of 82.

Levi worked gathering crops, following the harvest up through the Midwest and Northwest, before starting at Stilwell Foods, where he worked until he retired. He was a lineworker, packaging frozen foods and finally as a member of the clean-up crew.

Levi may have retired from Stilwell Foods, but he never actually retired from work. He was always working on his small farm, where he cared for his cows along with clearing brush, cutting wood, cutting and baling hay and taking care of McLemore Cemetery for 40+ years.

He enjoyed visiting with friends and family, hanging out at Ernest's Garage and going to the sale barn where he became good friends with Danny Isaacs.

Levi had special friends that he enjoyed being around, Ernest Johnson, Felix Choate, Ricky Sam, Billy & Bobby Gann and the late Danny Isaacs.

Preceding him in death were his parents: John and Anawake Simmons, twin sisters, brother: Hoover Simmons, wife: Betty Simmons, son: Billy Wayne Stilwell, son-in-law: Rich Williams and grandson: Clay Stilwell.

He is survived by a loving family: Grace Nofire, Rita Hall and husband Randall, of Stilwell, Janice Williams of Bunch, Charles Stilwell and Sue Long, Pam Burnett and husband Ron, of Stilwell, Kim Riddle and husband Joe of Weleetka, 8 grandchildren: Sonya Hummingbird and husband Gary, Dianna Hall, Cody Burnett, all of Stilwell, Richard William and wife Jeanetta, Amanda Williams, of Bunch, Matthew Stilwell, Josh Stilwell, Ashley Stilwell and R J Tidwell, all of Stilwell, 6 great grandchildren: Lance Williams and wife Nicole of Stilwell, Summer Williams of Bunch, Keith Stilwell, Darcey Stilwell, Oaklee Tidwell, all of Stilwell, Khloe Riddle, Gaven Arthur of Weleetka, step grandkids: Matt Riddle, Rachel Riddle, Kaitlyn Riddle, Dylan Riddle and wife Leslie Wyatt. Many other relatives and a multitude of friends also survive him.

Funeral services held at 1 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Bro. David Beaver officiating. Interment follows at Clear Springs Cemetery, Stilwell,
