Edith Vann
1926 - December 10, 2007
Edith Vann departed this life and went home to be with her Lord on December 10, 2007 at the age of 81 years and 27 days.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dutch, one sister; Sally, and one brother; Richard.
She is survived by one sister; Mary Jo Duncan of Stilwell, four daughters and four sons; Dora Watie of Stilwell, Reba and husband Bob Jones of Stilwell, Betty Sue and husband Joe Scott of Stilwell, and Branda Vann of Tulsa, Eugene Vann of Stilwell, David Vann of Tulsa, Ronny and wife Marta Vann of Welling, Sammie and wife Mae Vann of Stilwell, Oklahoma.
She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Edith accepted Jesus as her personal Savior in February 2007 and was a member of the Keys First Southern Baptist Church.
Edith was employed for a number of years by Stilwell Foods and during her retirement years, she was employed by the Adair County Health Department in Stilwell.
Edith was a strong courageous woman and she always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a single parent, a sister, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother, and she also loved her Oklahoma Sooners.
At the end of her life, she raised her arms and with a look of awe on her face, she took her last breath on earth and her first in heaven. What a homecoming she must be enjoying with Jesus, her mother, her sister, her brother, her husband, her son-in-law and her grandchildren all there to welcome her home.
Funeral services were held, Friday December 14, 2007 in the Cherry Tree Baptist Church with Bro. John Gonzales Jr., and Dr. Andy Bowman officiating.
Interment followed in the Chulio Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
