Joe Duncan Sr., son of Bob and Annie (Sam) Duncan was born October 21, 1935 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on December 2, 2010 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 11 days.
He loved gardening, sitting outside, riding his scooter and was an avid OU football fan. He always enjoyed making sure his grandson Robert mowed the yard correctly. He also liked to watch Haley, Smetta and Gracie Jo ride his scooter but most of all he enjoyed being around his loved ones. He was raised by Maggie and Charlie Cochran and the love they showed him as parents carried through to his children and grandchildren by being a very loving father and grandfather to them all.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Junior Acorn, Luke Duncan, Martin, Price and George Cochran, Daughter-in- law; Edna Duncan, Step Dad; John Acorn, 2 great grandchildren; Taylor Nicole Duncan-Augare, River Kyle Beaver, and 1 Sister; Oleta Newman.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his children; LouAnn Duncan of the home in Stilwell, Ok, Joe Duncan Jr., Jimmy Duncan and wife Mary all of Stilwell, Ok, His children’s mother; Mary Jo Duncan of Stilwell, Ok, Sisters; Betty Glass and husband Watie, Esther Carrione, Patsy Doublehead, Corena Wolfe, Nancy Soap, Minnie Soap all of Stilwell, OK, Brothers; Tom Cochran, Sanders Cochran and Jerry Wayne Cochran all of Stilwell, Ok. Adopted children; Letha Crittenden and Leona Duncan, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and one on the way, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2010, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. John Gonzalis Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Chulio Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
