Margaret Ann Chair Christie, daughter of Rabbit W. Chair and Gaynie Sixkiller Chair was born July 9, 1929 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and went home to be with her Lord from her home on August 20, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Margaret lived in the Stilwell area her entire life, attending school at Greasy and Cave Springs. She was married to Bill Christie and they made their home in the Wauhillau Community.

Margaret worked for a number of years at Stilwell Canning Company and several years as a teacher’s aide at Maryetta School, retiring in 1994.

Margaret was a Christian by faith accepting Christ and being baptized at age 16. She was a faithful member of Bidding Creek Baptist Church. She set an example to her children and grandchildren of living by faith, hope and strength in her Heavenly Father. When she was able, you could count on her to sing a special at church which was always, Amazing Grace.

Margaret dearly loved her family, loved to feed them and especially cherished spending Sundays with them. In recent years when she could no longer get out, she studied her Bible, visited with friends on the phone and watched Wheel of Fortune.

She was preceded in death by, her parents, one son, Dennis Wayne, brothers, Perry, George, J.E. and J.B. Chair, one sister, Francis Jean Chair and her son-in-law, Jim Fields.

She leaves behind her daughters, Lisa Fields and Karen Chuculate and husband, John; seven grandchildren, Gina Salazar-Martinez and Mike, Jeff Salazar and Shannon, Jamie Beaver and Amos, Chris Fields and Tishia, Ashley Chuculate, Brent Chuculate and Marlena, Michael Fields and Tara; 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on-the-way; two sisters, Genevieve Holt, Katy Vardeman and Jack; one brother, R.W. and Margaret; several nieces, nephews, her church family and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Glass officiating. Interment will follow at Chuculate Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
