Richard Garland Mays
November 23, 1924 - July 5, 2006
Richard Garland Mays son of Irvin Richard and Sarah Elizabeth (Powell) Mays was born November 23, 1924 in Gibsland, Louisiana and departed this life on July 5, 2006 in DeQueen, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 7 month and 11 days.He married Juanita June Lacie on December 17, 1949.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of over 50 years, Juanita Mays in 2004, 1 brother: Jack Mays.He is survived by a very loving family that includes 1 brother: Johnny Mays, 2 sisters: Frankie Daniels and Barbara Maxey all of Louisiana, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Funeral services were held Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with Bro. Darrell Lacie officiating.
Interment followed in the Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
