Minnie Lois Russell
March 12, 1901-August 17, 1986
Minnie Lois Russell, 85, Westville, passed away on August 17, 1986 in a Tulsa hospital. Born March 12, 1901 in Westville, she was the daughter of Thomas Calvin and Sarah Jane Thurman Woods. She was a homemaker, a lifetime resident of Westville, a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Goingsnake Historical Society of Westville.
Mrs. Russell was married to Charlie Russell on December 21, 1917 in Westville. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1984.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 19, 1986 at the Hart Chapel with Rev. Howard Turney officiating. Interment was in the Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville. Pallbearers were Ernest Woods, Vol C. Woods, Jerome Marshal, J. C. Morris, Floyd Morris and Vol David Woods.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Morris, Ernest Buffington, Burlan Woods, Pete Sixkiller and Dean Sixkiller.
She is survived by two sons, Charles C. of Grove, Oklahoma and Gene E. of Pittsburg, Kansas; two sisters, Nellie Tennant and Elsie Reed, both of Westville; two brothers, Forrest Woods and Oliver Woods both of Westville; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
