Johnnie Edward Kirby, son of Davy “Dutch” Crockett and Bertha (Frazier) Kirby, was born into this world on July 5, 1936 in Proctor, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Friday, October 15, 2010 in Tontitown, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 10 days.
Johnnie was a lifelong resident of the Westville area. He was known and liked by all who knew him. Johnnie loved his family and friends. He met many people through his work as an auto mechanic. His presence will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Dutch and Bertha Kirby, brother: Troy and an infant sister.
Those left to keep his memory are his wife: Melba Kirby of the home in Westville, OK, sons: Billy Kirby and wife Betsy of Stilwell, OK, Roy Kirby and wife Gina of Kiefer, OK, Johnny Kirby and wife Margie of Mannford, OK, the mother of Billy, Roy and Johnny: Vera Mordecai Johnson, grandchildren: Travis Kirby of Tahlequah, OK, John Kirby, William Kirby, Rebecca Kirby, all of Stilwell, OK, Roy Kirby, Jr. and Anna Kirby of Kiefer, OK, Kyndle Kirby and Levi Kirby of Mannford, OK, great grandchild: Traeden Kirby of Muskogee, OK, stepchildren: Sam Hunt and wife Vicky of Siloam Springs, AR, Sue McGuire and husband Jerry of Roanoke, VA, Judy Garcia and husband Lorenzo of Siloam Springs, AR, Leta Enos and husband Charlie of Newcastle, OK, Danny Hunt and wife Carol of Delran, NJ, brothers: Dave Kirby of Westwood, CA, Ray Kirby of Westwood, CA, Louie Kirby of Evansville, AR, Kenneth “Red” Kirby of Stilwell, OK and sister: Faye Long of Stilwell, OK. Johnnie is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Roberts Chapel, Westville, OK, with Bro. Paul Payne and Bro. James Duffel officiating. Interment followed at Old Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
