William Isaac "Bill" Guthrie

Bill was a teacher for thirty years at Mingo School. He retired from there in 1994. He was born in a small log cabin in Adair County, Oklahoma to Homer and Lucille (Rhine) Guthrie of Westville, OK.  Bill graduated from Westville High School in 1960, earned a Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern State in Tahlequah, OK and a Master's Degree in Art from the University of Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Wanda Long and nephews: Larry and Don Kindle.

Bill is survived by his life partner: Jonathan Stanley, close friends: Jane Cahalen, Pat Johnson and Erik Nelson, his little dog: J.J., sister: Elva Jackson and husband Bill, nieces: Tammy Wilcoxen and husband Don, Trish Henington and husband Jim, nephews: Henry Jackson, Kenneth Kindle and wife Mary, Mike Kindle and wife Janelle, many grand and great grandnieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association Services were held at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, OK on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.

Internment was at the Old Baptist Mission Cemetery, Westville, OK.
