They are as follows: Homer Melton, William Vell, James Oliver, Noba Mae [married: Swagerty], Ellen Elizabeth [married: Scroggins], Evon Stella [married: Harmon], Afi J [married: Swagerty], Paul Ray, & Pauline Faye [married: Goodman & Gann]. They have several grandchildren & great grandchildren. |
© Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Rush Springs, Oklahoma June 1964 Minnie Alice Wright March 8, 1892 ~ June 5, 1964 Funeral services for Mrs Minnie Alice Wright were held Sunday, June 7th at 2:30 pm from the Southern Baptist Church. The Rev Lesley W. James, pastor of the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church of which she was a member, officiated. Mrs Wright, 72, was born March 8, 1892 in Hollytree, Alabama and died June 5th at the Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha. She had been a resident of Rush Springs for 55 years. On February 18, 1912, she was united in marriage to Walter A. Wright in Rush Springs. Pallbearers were Alva Tims, Ernest Evans, Att Tims, Luster Dorman, Woodrow McDaniel and Bud Brewer. Burial in the Rush Springs cemetery was under the direction of Callaway-Smith Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Walter A. Wright of Rush Springs; one son, Odel Wright also of Rush Springs; and three sisters, Mrs Lissie Prince of Fort Gibson, Mrs Willie Heard of Rush Springs and Mrs Mae Wells of Plainview, Texas. |

Wright, age 88, died on December 25, 2019 in Oklahoma City, OK after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 2, 1931 in Cloud Chief, OK to William H. Wright and Ivy Pearl Cotter Wright. He proudly served in the US Army. He married the love of his life, Loretta Randolph on December 24, 1970 in OKC, OK. Winfred owned Wright Electric for 45 years. He retired in 2003. He touched many lives making friends wherever he went. He loved the Lord and was a member of Vimy Ridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Eugene Wright; and sister, Alta Mae Harris. Survivors include his wife, Loretta of the home; son, Steve Wright and wife Kharlyn; daughter, Kelly Harrington and husband George; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Integris Hospice House for their loving care. Viewing will be Sunday, December 29, 11am-9pm with the family receiving friends from 4-6 pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Service will be Monday, December 30 at 10am in Mercer-Adams Chapel. Interment will be in Rush Springs Cemetery. |
© Whitt Funeral Home Purcell, Oklahoma June 2020 February 12, 1951 ~ June 3, 2020 Jerry Dwaine Wright, Sr was born February 12, 1951, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to D'Eugene and Opal Virginia [Garrett] Wright. He passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at his home in Marlow. He was 69. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, at 2:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Rush Springs. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center of Duncan. Jerry attended schools in Peru, Indiana. He married Patience Kathleen Petary on August 25, 1973 in Glendale Arizona. They had four children - Selina, Faith, Hope and Jerry Jr. He was employed as a construction worker building residential homes and commercial buildings. He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Virginia Wright; daughter, Selina Williams; and sister-in-law, Pam Wright. Jerry is survived by his wife, Patience; children: Faith Clampitt of Rush Springs; Hope and husband Bobby Barnes of Durant; Jerry Wright, Jr.; grandchildren: Cheyenne Clampitt; Zachary and wife Alexis Clampitt; Toby Clampitt; Sierra Nichols; Cherokee Barnes; Elizabeth Wright; Apache Melton; Madision Williams; great grandchildren: Ja"Kobi Clampitt; Lycric Chouteau; Noah Chouteau; Vidia Chouteau; Eli Clampitt; father, D'Eugene Wright; brother, Terry Wright, Sr; and numerous nieces and nephews. |
